LEADERSHIP & COMMUNITY

Hello!

Supporting Chinese international students shaped how I understand leadership. Through workshops, informal discussions, and resource sharing, I often heard concerns about belonging, loneliness, and hesitating to ask for help—especially among students navigating language barriers and unfamiliar institutional systems. Creating spaces where these conversations could happen openly required cultural sensitivity and careful attention to group dynamics. In doing so, I saw how even small opportunities for connection can meaningfully reduce distress and strengthen a sense of community.

I also practiced leadership through research. As a first author at an undergraduate research symposium, I coordinated task division within our team and took primary responsibility for analysis and presentation, learning to balance collaboration with accountability.
